IoT device firmware security scanning with Microsoft Defender for IoT

IoT device firmware security scanning with Microsoft Defender for IoT

Traditional scanning for vulnerabilities and monitoring for anomalous traffic patterns are a great start toward IoT security. But those tactics won't find expired SSL certificates or a manufacturer's embedded private key or outdated open-source packages all of which represent additional attack vectors on IoT devices and solutions. Firmware scans can reveal these hidden attack vectors. With the integration of Binwalk Enterprise, Microsoft Defender for IoT now has the ability to scan IoT devices firmwares for this kind of security risks. Terry Dunlap joins Olivier on the IoT show to explain the why and how. IoT Show: Bring Industrial data into your Azure IoT solution with CloudRail

CloudRail and their fully managed solution acquire data from industrial environments, pre-process it locally, and sends it to Azure IoT. CloudRail uses industry standards like OPC-UA to connect modern devices, while old machines are retrofitted with secondary sensors. In this new episode of the IoT Show, Olivier is joined by Felix Kollmar, Co-Founder and CEO at CloudRail to discuss CloudRail's integration with Azure IoT Learn more at https://aka.ms/iotshow/CloudRail 0:00 - Teaser 0:33 - Introduction 1:17 - How is Industrial IoT particular and what are the main challenges in that space? 2:55 - Demo: Connect Industrial device to the Cloud seamlessly with CloudRail 7:37 - Demo: Adding device and visualizing telemetry in Azure IoT Central 11:00 - Demo: Send commands to industrial devices from Azure IoT Central 12:50 - CloudRail is production ready 15:00 - Wrap up and call to action

IoT Show: Rewinding the Metaverse using Data History for Azure Digital Twins

Data History is a new integration that connects an Azure Digital Twins instance to an Azure Data Explorer (ADX) cluster and automatically historizes digital twin property updates to ADX. The direct integration simplifies setup, reduces management overhead, and eliminates the need to write an Azure function to transform and historize twin property updates. Once the twin property values are historized to ADX, you can run joint queries using the Azure Digital Twins plugin for ADX to reason across digital twins, their relationships, and time series data to gain insights into the behavior of modeled environments. 0:00 - Teaser 0:55 - Introduction 2:00 - Azure Digital Twins refresher 4:07 - Scenarios and challenges where accessing previous state of a digital twin is necessary 7:12 - Azure Digital Twins and Data Explorer integration 8:40 - Demo 22:00 - Do you have to send data through Digital Twins or can you send directly to Data Explorer? 23:15 - Wrap up and call to action Learn more reading the blog post at https://aka.ms/iotshow/AzureDigitalTwinsDataHistory
